The Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) was tasked under the DENR GAD Guide, titled, “Beyond Gender Mainstreaming: Linking Environment and Natural Resources (ENR), Climate Change, Health and Gender, guide to planning for GAD in the ENR sector”, to undertake the baseline data gathering and impact assessment in partnership with DENR Bureaus and Attached Agencies on the implementation of the institutional and sectoral baseline data gathering of gender-related information and gender-disaggregated data for the DENR GAD Information System.

Thus, a workshop on the DENR GAD Sectoral Baseline Data Gathering Activity was spearheaded by the ERDB GAD Focal Point System on November 13-14, 2023 in Manila.

The workshop was participated by 46 DENR National GAD Working Group members composed of 39 women and 7 men.

Atty. Analiza Rebuelta-Teh, Undersecretary for Finance, Information Systems and Climate Change and Chairperson, DENR National Gender and Development Focal Point System, and Ms. Elenida DR. Basug, Director for Climate Change Service, and Concurrent Director, DENR GAD Office, graced the activity and welcomed the participants by providing the clear objectives of the workshop.

Likewise, she urged the DENR National GAD Working team to determine where to focus the efforts in order to improve the progress of gender equality.

The workshop served as a crucial platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity building among stakeholders.
