
In collaboration with various government offices and private institutions in Barangay Talipan, the Urban and Biodiversity Research Development and Extension Center (UBRDEC) launched the program “Bayanihan sa Talipan” on September 13, 2022 at the Talipan National High School in Pagbilao, Quezon.
The Bayanihan sa Talipan is an initiative to further solidify its collaboration with the municipality of Pagbilao, Quezon Province to pursue environmental protection and biodiversity conservation in the barangay.
It is the culmination of three previous community meetings, trainings, and other activities coordinated by UBRDEC since 2021 through the “Kapihan sa Talipan”.

The event was participated by government agencies including the Pagbilao LGU, Sangguniang Barangay of Talipan, Pagbilao Mayor’s Office, Sangguniang Kabataan ng Talipan, Quezon Parole and Probation Office, National Irrigation Administration, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Education, Provincial Veterinary Office, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine National Police, and Provincial Engineering Office.
Also present are private institutions and organizations such as the Homeowners Association of Pagbilao, Velfram Foods Corporation, Sales Junk Shop, JTP Commercial, Kristala and Talipan TODA.

The event kicked off with an information drive-motorcade in five sitios where leaflets about barangay ordinances on solid waste management were disseminated to the barangay of Talipan.



The main highlight of the program was the signing of the pledges of commitment by the participating institutions.
Member offices expressed their commitment to support all activities for environment protection and biodiversity conservation in the barangay; implement various programs and strategies to reduce solid wastes within their offices and premises; and engage in various information dissemination activities to promote the goals and objectives of the Bayanihan sa Talipan.
