United in their goal of good stewardship of the environment and its natural resources, the Urban Research Development and Extension Center (UBRDEC) held a meeting with the Office of the PENRO Quezon to discuss collaborations and partnerships for the year 2023.
“We want to show the combined force of the DENR field offices and researchers, especially in this province”, UBRDEC Center Head Gregorio E. Santos Jr., states, “and we want our efforts to be completely science-based”.
For. Santos Jr., together with UBRDEC Technology Transfer Promotion and Extension Unit Chief Ms. Adreana Santos-Remo, briefed the PENRO-Quezon about the facilities, operations, personnel, along with the current roster of technologies and initiatives developed by ERDB-UBRDEC.
“We recognize that we have the research arm of DENR at hand”, PENRO Ronilo L. Salac shares as he convenes with the staff of UBRDEC, “as we are already working together for a long time, this time we just have to band together to align our targets and activities.”
For. Salac also recommended that another meeting be held as soon as possible with UBRDEC together with other heads of ENRO offices in Quezon, as well as the LGUs to start mobilizing and capacitating personnel for the science-based implementation of environment and natural resources programs and initiatives. A training on bamboo and mangrove is slated for this year for the technical personnel of DENR PENRO Quezon. For. David Ivan T. Malinao, UBRDEC
