More than 1000 participants availed of the free IEC materials and pine tree seedlings during the Duterte Legacy Caravan held at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau-Watershed and Water Resources Research and Development, Extension Center (ERDB-WWRRDEC) celebrated the International Earth Day with the Duterte Legacy Caravan thru Convergence of all Government Agencies held in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on April 22, 2022.

With the theme “Pagkakaisa ng Mamayan at Pamahalaan Tungo sa Pagbangon, Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran”, the event served as an avenue for DENR and other government agencies to introduce ongoing programs, projects and provide free services to the community.

As team efforts, WWRRDEC with DENR-CAR, EMB-CAR, and MGB-CAR set up an ENR booth and displayed Information and Educational Campaign (IEC) materials on the agencies’ programs, projects and policies. This includes How to Manuals on Planting Stocks Production, Teknow Komiks on Tree Surgery, Bamboos and Water Conservation, Compilation of Water-related Policies, and Abstracts of WWRRDEC Researches, among others. Free Legal consultations on water policies, land titling, solid waste, mining and geohazards- related concerns were also provided.

One thousand pine tree seedlings were also distributed to encourage the community to care for the environment by planting and nurturing more trees. The Shanum (water) mascot was also  present during the event, who joyfully greeted the attendees and even posed for souvenir photos with them.

The caravan aims to inform the public about the National Agencies’ convergence initiatives on landmark programs and accomplishments under President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration. It was organized by the Philippine National Police Presidential Communications Office (PCOO), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
