The Toxic and Hazardous Wastes Research, Development, and Extension Center joins executives from the DENR National Capital Region (NCR) during its first quarter Management Conference on February 8 to 11, 2023 at Forest Crest Nature Hotel and Resort, Nasugbu, Batangas.

Executives from EMB National Capital Region, and the Pasig River Coordinating and Monitoring (PRCMO) also attended the event.

The theme set for the management conference was “Coming stronger and working together towards resilient wetland environment, better tomorrow and excellent public service”.

As such, Regional Executive Director Jacqueline Caancan emphasized during the opening program that all attending offices in the management conference “belong to one DENR” with the “same goals”, thus, they should be supporting each other’s activities and projects.

Relatively, concerns on the physical and financial performances of DENR NCR, as well as its plans for CY 2023 – 2024 were discussed during the conference. On the other hand, THWRDEC Head Nery Alba presented the Center’s ongoing research projects, as well as the projects that are in the pipeline for CY 2023.

Proposals relative to the Manila Bay Rehabilitation project were also discussed. Afterwards, copies of the new research proposals of the Center were provided to DENR NCR.

Such actions will enable said office to provide inputs/suggestions to the proposals. Nery A. Alba, Center Head and Jonathan Alexander DJ Galang, Information Officer II
