
With this year’s theme, “We for Gender Equality, Inclusive Resilient Societyâ€, the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) through its Gender and Development Focal Point System (GADFPS) started its month-long activities on March 8, 2023 through the opening of the GAD exhibit at the ERDB lobby.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Emmanuel M. Cuison, Chief of the Administrative and Finance Management Division (AFMD) said, “The overall objective of the gender program is to give equal opportunities for both men and women. So, this is an opportunity for us to show our cooperation, respect and recognition of the women in societyâ€.
He also thanked all the participants who joined the activities of the ERDB’s Gender and Development Focal Point System (GADFPS).

For. Romana A, Mauricio, Chair of the GAD Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Committee explained the ERDB’s exhibit for the Women’s Month celebration.
She said, “With this exhibit, I challenge every Juan and Juana to examine ourselves on how we are not just participating in a campaign. But as a community where we live today, united for a VAW-free Philippines.â€
As a final message, she said, “Let us be that future now and by seriously exercising what this exhibit tells you, we can already live the gender-equal and inclusive society future today.â€
Shortly after, the ribbon cutting ceremony followed and the photo opportunity with all the members of the ERDB Executive Committee.
Among the lineup of activities during the month-long celebration include the Webinar on Mental Health Awareness (March 5, 2022), GAD-Webinar on Republic Act No. 7877 (Creation of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (COD) of Sexual Harassment Cases and Republic Act No. 11313: Safe Spaces Act (March 8, 2023), Juana Buys Live-Selling (March 10, 2023), Webinar on the Relation of Sex-Disaggregated Data on Gender Analysis (March 15, 2023), and Webinar on Reproductive Health Concerns (March 22, 2023).
