Los Banos, Laguna – The Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB), the research arm of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will be hosting the first R and D Conference on Urban Parks and Green Cities: A Sustainable Future in Southeast Asia on October 11-14, 2022 in Manila.
The event will be a platform for the government, academicians, research community and institutions to present information generated from research and development on sustainable development and management of parks and green cities. The Conference also aims to address the emerging issues and concerns, knowledge gaps and challenges faced by urban parks and green cities.
ERDB calls researchers and experts in this field to submit papers for the event until May 7, 2022. The research interests will revolve around these four major themes:
- Conservation and balance environment protection for Green Cities and Urban Biodiversity
- Ways to a healthier ASEAN environment and more livable through the improvement of air, water, and land in Urban Parks and Green Cities
- Valuation of Ecosystem services in ASEAN megacities of Green Cities and Urban Biodiversity
- Management Strategies for urban development and sustainable urban future.
This February, ERDB released the first call for papers and received around 50 entries, both local and international. ERDB is opening the second call for papers until May 7, 2021. See the poster for details.
