Los Baños, Laguna – The Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) through Technology Transfer Division (TTD) organized the 3rd Annual Technical Seminar on April 21, 2021 via Zoom application to discuss the re-entry plans from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
Around 80 participants from ERDB attended the said activity. The webinar featured three ERDB researchers from the RDECs who completed their degree of Master in Public Management – Major in Rural Development from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
For. Joselito T. Sumabat, Senior Science Research Specialist of Coastal Resources and Ecotourism Research, Development and Extension Center discussed the program overview of Master in Public Management and the National Convergence Initiative of DENR, DA, and DAR. He also presented his re-entry plan entitled “Strengthening Governance Towards Effective Can-Asujan Watershed Management: A Case Study”.
Engr. Edmichael DG. Figueroa, Senior Science Research Specialist of Urban Biodiversity Research, Development and Extension Center highlighted the three aspects of sustainability through his re-entry plan entitled “Introduction of Sustainable Agricultural Program to Mangyan Community of Barangay Balatasan, Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro”.
For. Ilyn C. Orella, Science Research Specialist I of Forest Wetland Research, Development and Extension Center featured five convergence strategies and initiatives to the LGU through their Rural Development Action Plan for Laswitan Saltwater Falls in Surigao del Sur.
Technology Transfer Division Chief Juan B. Ebora closed the event with a reminder, “We must continuously seek opportunities to improve our skills and attend other technical seminars”.
