Emelou Pacimo, Grade 11 HUMSS student of Arellano University Juan Sumulong Campus, is hailed as the winner of ENVIOCON 2021.

Los Baños, Laguna – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau-DENR awarded ENVIOCON winners last December 9 to 10, 2021.

Allysa Marie Federio, ERDB youth desk officer, together with Marilou Villones, Information Officer I, and Cheriwinkle Lego, Media Production Specialist I, formally awarded the certificate of appreciation and cash prize to Emelou Pacimos in the presence of Arellano University Juan Sumulong Campus high school principal Daniel John Cariazo.

They also awarded the fourth place winner King Villena together with the Batangas Province Highschool for Culture principal Cherry Ann Datinguinoo, and the fifth place winner Khieza Deanne Caminero of Muntinlupa Science High School in the presence of its high school principal Marmeto Florante.

For the second placer, Adreana Santos-Remo, Enviotech Committee Chair together with Liberty Asis, TPMEES section Chief and Abel Banayo ERDB youth desk officer awarded the certificate and cash prize to 2nd place winner Pliny Judea Del Rio in the presence Quezon National High School Principal Feliza Quevada, Science Head Teacher Ariel R. Viñas, and Coach Carla Marie Baldovino at Lucena City, Quezon.

They also awarded the third place winner, Yosef Christian Cuenca of Philippine Science High School, in the presence of Juan B. Ebora, TTD Division Chief, and Assistant Director For. Mayumi Quintos-Natividad at the ERDB Main Office.

The People’s Choice Award winner Angel Ann Banagan of Dr.  Mariana Pastrana National High school was also awarded the certificate and cash prize in the presence of Teacher I Mr. Harold Bert Distor and the Banagan Family.

ENVIOCON is a digital art contest that aims to highlight the possible contributions of biotechnology in addressing environmental issues in the country as perceived by the younger generations today.  Allysa Marie C. Federio, TTD
