- Litsea leytensis commonly known asÂ batikuling is a large tree widely found in theÂ forests of Luzon, especially in Quezon Province.Â The batikuling wood is hard, pale in color and, atÂ one time, was used for making agricultural toolsÂ handles and laundry paddles. Litsea leytensis isÂ a species of plant in the Lauraceae family. It isÂ endemic to the Philippines. It is threatened byÂ habitat loss.
