In line with its mandate in promoting and disseminating technologies for sustainable ENR Management, the ERDB-UTHRC held an educational tour cum hands-on training to increase the level of appreciation of the interested parties. On Oct. 20, 2017, UTHRC facilitated a one-day CBT hands-on training in response to the request of the DENR-NCR Conservation and Development Division (CDD) held in Brgy. Bagumbuhay, Project 4, Quezon City. The main objective of the training was to provide awareness on how to minimize waste and learn to convert waste into valuable products. Participants of the training included (15 males and 7 females) Barangay Secretary of all Barangays in Malabon City, CENRO Staff of Malabon City and Mr. Manuel Francisco, a private individual.
Ms. Evangeline Marcelino discussed the importance of the technology and the provision of technical assistance to the interested parties. On the other hand, Ms. Ma. Salvacion Samson gave a lecture on the process of the CBT and the different equipment needed in the production of charcoal briquettes. Chairman Raulito Datiles, Brgy. Bagumbuhay presented the barangay experience on CBT as well as the different strategies implemented for the success of the technology.
At the end of the training Mr. Rey Mauricio Aguinaldo in behalf of the DENR-NCR CDD, expressed their willingness to support the participants to gain more knowledge on the different ENR related livelihood projects.
