Spearheaded by Dr. Carlos S. Arida, WWRRC Center Head, employees plant seedlings every Friday to meet the 43,000 cloned seedlings target by the center under the National Greening Program (NGP). It is estimated that each person can pot an average of 500 seedlings a day. With this, the target seedlings are expected to be ready for delivery within the third quarter.

Each employee carries pots to the seedling beds, prepares the planting materials, waters the seedlings, removes the weeds, and helps in other nursery activities. These weekly nursery activities created opportunities for work relationships to be built and developed as everyone is mobilized towards a common goal.

The same strategy is also being done in the WWRRC Research Stations to produce their NGP 2016 target cloned seedling productions of 489,000. - M.L.C. Calpito & M.K. Buot, WWRRC
