ERDB participated in the exhibit, sungka tournament, and fun run as part of the celebration of the World Water Day. The celebration aims to promote the importance of freshwater and sustainable management of freshwater resources with the theme “Water and Jobs”.
ERDB featured its study on climate change vulnerability assessment of coastal and marine areas in priority watersheds at the exhibit in Trinoma, Quezon City on March 22. On the same day, Ms. Florita E. Siapno and Marie L. Joy Zuraek joined the Sungka tournament. Thirty- one ERDB personnel participated in the fun run in Marikina Sports Complex on March 20. Mr. Paul Baguhin and Mr. Almiro Oltiveros won the first and third place, respectively in the 3,000-kilometer run.
During the kick-off of the celebration, keynote speaker Executive Director Sevillo David of the National Water Resources Board said, “Water is a life that should be taken care of. More than 1.5B jobs are related to water. We should respect the people who work to preserve and clean the water to be used by future generations.
