The Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB), through the Planning and Management Services Unit spearheaded the 1st Management Conference on March 8-11, 2016 at Camp John Hay, Baguio City. This activity has given the research sector the leeway to convene regularly to address attendant issues and concerns in the implementation of the ENR RDE Framework as well as its commitment and deliverables. It also serves as a venue to further discuss and agree on the direction of the research agenda to fulfill the Bureau’s vision of improving the quality of lives of the Filipino people.

This conference aimed to: (1) present the updates on the agreement made in the 4th Management Conference; 2) discuss the performance-based and monitoring of mangrove and Beach Forest Development Project and National Greening Program-Production of Quality Planning Materials (NGP-POPM) concerns (SPAs, IPTs, Clonal Facilities and SUC Partnership) and Strategic Plan for CY 2016; 3) discuss the minimum standards for Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR); 5) present the RDE Roadmap of MDARC, UTHRC and BCWERC; 6) present and discuss the final RDE Framework 2017-2022 and; 7) provide other information through the Director’s Hour.

At the end of the conference, it was expected to come up with the following outputs: 1) Updated report on the operation and management of the MBFDP and NGP-PQPM; 2) Minimum Standards for Researches, Support Staff (Planning and TTD) and Administrative Personnel; 3) Information on Competency and Training Needs of ERDB and; 4) finalize RDE Framework for 2017-2022.

This activity was participated in by the six research Center Directors together with their planning and technical staff , ERDB Director, Dr. Henry A. Adornado, OIC-Asst. Director, Dr. Antonio M.
