The Pro-Active Response Towards Nurturing Environmental Relations: A Barangay Outreach project based on community Needs and Demands Partner-Bond) project conducted the Capacity Building on Bamboo Propagation on November 24, 2015 at the Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (DRRMC) building in Liliw, Laguna.
Hon. Mayor Ericson J. Sulibit of Liliw, Laguna gave the welcome remarks during the training. Ms. Marla V. Cambay, Project leader of the Partner Bond project was the emcee and gave the rationale, objectives, mechanics and expected output of the project. Ms. Leah Domasig introduced the participants of the training.
There were 20 participants in the training. Some of the participants were landowners, barangay captains and LGU personnel in Liliw, Laguna.
Dr. Aida Lapis gave a lecture on the different kinds of bamboo, types of bamboo propagation, production of bamboo planting materials, management of bamboo plantation and uses of bamboo. She also brought the different products made from bamboo.
In the afternoon, Mr. Edgardo Castillo of ERDB made a demonstration on the planting of bamboo using the one-node and two-node cutting procedures. The participants were interested in the technology and were thankful because of the training. Marla V. Cambay, TTD
