ERDB in partnership with 7th Infantry Division (7ID), Philippine Army spearheaded the planting of indigenous forest tree seedlings on July 18. Non-government and private organizations, policemen and students joined the planting of 2,000 seedlings at the selected 670-hectare planting site in Brgy. Caballero, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija. The said activity is also a part of celebration of 27th year anniversary of the 7ID.

During the interview with the UNTV, ERDB OIC-Assistant Director Antonio M. Daño said, "Trees are helpful in carbon sequestration, and through this activity we can contribute in climate change mitigation." He also encouraged the participants to plant more trees and should be good stewards of the environment. Mr. Angelito B. Exconde, Forester Gregorio E. Santos, Ms. Carmelita M. Mojica and PENRO Nueva Ecija, Leovino C. Ignacio were also present in the event and participated in planting seedlings. Col Dionisio C. Baudin Jr, Chief of Staff of 7ID, said to the participants, "Our happiness is seeing you participating in this noble activity. This is our contribution to Nueva Ecija in particular and to earth in general." He also thanked ERDB and other participants and said that 7ID is looking forward to plant more trees with them.
