For. Gregorio Santos, Jr. served as one of the resource persons at the Environment and Natural Resources Technologies cum Stakeholders' Training Needs Assessment (TNA) on May 19, 2015 at the DENR Bldg., Ecology Center, Diliman, Quezon City. The forum, which is coordinated by ERDS-NCR, served as an avenue for the stakeholders to learn about the application of different Environment and Natural Resource (ENR) technologies and for them to have a basis of the technologies they prefer to adopt in their communities.

 

For. Santos, ERDB's Senior Science Research Specialist, shared his expertise in charcoal briquetting technology. His lecture covered the process of making charcoal briquettes from forest waste products and the advantages of using them over regular charcoals. He also introduced the liquid smoke as a by-product of charcoal briquettes.

Towards the end of his discussion, he entertained some participants' questions which are mostly about product marketing and the availability of the equipment for briquetting.
